88. Pauline Baynes original art published in J.R.R. Tolkien's Poems and Stories. This art was published in the 1980 Deluxe Edition of Poems and Stories by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was redrawn to new size from the original edition of Tolkien's 1967 fantasy novella Smith of Wootton Major. The mixed media art measures approx. 5 ½ in. x 8 ½ in. and depicts a medieval-like scene with a blacksmith working in his shop whilst the townsfolk look on. Signed in pencil at the lower left, "Pauline Baynes". Housed in a custom archival frame. $2,000 - $3,000
