Octavo, 286 pages plus 8 pages of advertisements at rear. Bright green cloth boards with title lettered in gilt on front board and spine. Hinges are sound. A touch of rubbing to extremities, slight toning of endpapers. With the very scarce printed dust jacket which shows light soiling and some slight paper loss at spine panel heel. Foretelling atomic warfare and post traumatic atomic power, Wells understood Einstein's theory well enough to grasp the annihilation of matter, the "Carolinium" used as his core material resembles plutonium, and his atomic bombs (a phrase repeated many times in the text) are dropped from air. $2,000 - $3,000
