167. Josephine Baker's first film Die Konigin Von Paris [La Revue Des Revues; The Revue of Revues] Austrian poster. (1927) Austrian poster, 50" x 72". Josephine Baker's first film, shot when she was all of twenty-one years old. The lifesize, stone litho artwork by Atelier Hans Neumann has to be seen in person to be believed. It captures Baker's sexiness and her elegance. The purple plumage behind her, which is in turn placed against a background of yellow, makes for an astonishing image of the divine Baker. This has to be the greatest of all posters of this transcendent artist, and one of only two known examples. On linen, with only the most routine and minute touchups at foldlines to what was an unused poster, essentially mint, with brilliant colors. Condition A. $40,000 - $60,000
