229. Original Grauman's Chinese Theatre lobby art for Lon Chaney in West of Zanzibar. (MGM, 1928) The art was painted by Russell E. Roberts who, following an 18-year stint at Pacific Title and Art Studio, headed the Title Art Department at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. This art was commissioned by Grauman's Chinese Theatre for display in their lobby and is a one of a kind. Painted in gouache on artist board, the piece measures 14 in. x 22 in. Exhibits mounting holes around the perimeter and down the center; could be easily restored to its former glory. $1,200 - $1,500
