268. Battlestar Galactica original TV Guide cover art. (ABC-TV, 1978-79) Painted by artist David Edward Byrd, the piece is accomplished in acrylic on artists illustration board measuring 15 ¼ in. x 21 in. (image measures 12 in. x 17 ½ in.). The art depicts Lorne Greene as Adama, Dirk Benedict as Starbuck and Richard Hatch as Apollo with the Battlestar Galactica flying in space in the background among the planets and stars. This art was painted for the September 1978 TV Guide cover announcing the premier of this landmark series. "Byrd" is stenciled on the bottom right of the art and "David Edward Byrd" is stamped at the bottom right of the board with "The Yellow Studio" stamped New York City address at the bottom left. Comes with an original copy of the TV Guide in which the art was published. $3,000 - $5,000
