289. Original knight's helmet and shield from The Crusades. (Paramount, 1935) The knight's helmet is constructed of rigid leather painted gray to resemble metal. It features a hinged faceplate and is lined in wool for the actor's comfort. The shield is made of steel with leather straps bolted on the reverse side. Although both are seen used in The Crusades, these two pieces were certainly pressed into use in other epic films. In particular, the shield was also used in Samson and Delilah and The Sheik. $400 - $600
