Fr. 1152    $20    1870    GBN  This is the extremely rare 1875 Series Gold Bank Note of which only 3,600 notes were issued. Only seven notes, one of which is laminated, have survived. A better example realized $74,740 in the O'Neal Collection sale by Heritage in 2005. The note appears to be intact and basically problem-free; a statement rarely made about Gold Bank Notes. It also appears to be at least close to the finest among those known. A true rarity that is seldom seen.
