$10 Proof Here we have a true rarity for National Bank Notes collectors and it's from charter #26, the home of the first National Bank Note. This note is a PROOF of a type that was never issued by the Continental Bank Note Company for the B.E.P. As the picture indicates, a GOLD overprint to this design for the original $10 First Charter. The overprint is not unlike the one on the early Compound Interest Notes that suffered so harshly from the acidity in the overprint ink. This piece had numerous splits, etc., it has been stabilized and remounted on a card. It is really a rare and cool item relating to the earliest National Bank Note history.
