Hat, sewn red leather forming paneled dome cap with large back brim, pressed metal eagle head form brace for white metal shield with applied brass number "7" and in banners "Shiffler" and "S. Fire Co.", on eagle stamped illegibly "R. NECF", painted red with gilt eagle and lines, on back brim "1852", 9"h. x 15-5/8"l. x 11-1/2"d., (good, minor surface losses, age cracks).
