An early Victorian eight day longcase clock, mahogany, crossbanded rosewood, the 15 inch arched painted dial signed 'John Jarvis, Whitchurch', with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture within a ring of Roman numerals, the corner spandrels painted with figures representing the four seasons under a rolling moon to the arch, the hood with arch glazed door between ring turned and lappeted front corner hood pilasters over a crossbanded short trunk door between short ring turned and lappeted front corner trunk pilasters, on a crossbanded box base and cut-out plinth, 225cm high Note: John Jarvis, Whitchurch, 1842 - 1879 listed in Shropshire 'Clock and watch makers' by Douglas J Elliot.
