A dressing table, French, 19th century, in the manner of Andre Charles Boulle, decorated with foliate arabesques and ebonized, the serpentine rectangular top with gilt metal edging opening to reveal a vacant interior, over a pull-out work basket, the four well shaped cabriole legs headed by espagnoelette masks terminating in sabots and acanthus scroll feet (at fault), 62cm wide, 71cm high, 42cm deep Note: Within the dressing table sits a family of letters detailing how the table was handed down from Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, through the family to the vendor's great grandmother, the letter cannot however be correct as it does not link with the date of the dressing table. Transcription of the letter is available.
