I am always excited when I have the opportunity to catalog and sell a Rainbow $50 from 1869. There is now a total of 62 examples of this elusive type, but more that two-thirds are lower grade than this example. The note looks more XF than a VF 25 APPARENT because of an absolutely miniscule corrected flaw in the top margin. The centering is excellent and the paper quality looks very nice for the grade. A PMG 25 realized $40,250 in April and a PCGS 30 brought $57,500 in January.
