October 19, 1778, Bill for the Storage of Molasses for the Continental Army, Norwich, CT, Choice Very Fine. Manuscript Document Signed "John Breed", a bill for 31 pounds, for the storage of molasses, received of (Captain) Jabez Perkins. Fine-laid paper, 5" x 8". Molasses had many usages during the colonial era, and would have been an important ingredient in the foods consumed by soldiers. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
