War of 1812
War of 1812 Requisition for Arms and Equipment 1814, War of 1812, Manuscript U.S. Army Military Requisition for the 33rd Infantry Regiment at Plattsburgh, New York, Choice Extremely Fine. This is an original, handwritten, 7" x 12" military requisition, listing clothing, weapons and other equipment needed by Captain Thomas Densmore's Company of the 33rd Infantry Regiment. This document is undated, though clearly written at the end of 1814 for the coming year. Lieutenant Joseph Morrison, who wrote out and signed the document, has added the following note regarding the condition of the company's equipment: "Clothing poor, being of bad quality when new. Arms in good order, the deficiency caused by damage. Camp equipage in bad order on account of the tents being old when received." The list of items needed is a long one, including muskets, bayonets, and swords, for the 98 men of the company. This document is in very nice condition, lightly age toned, still bold and easily readable. A great example of a War of 1812 military document.
