Carte de Visite Profile Photograph of General Benjamin Butler sitting in civilian clothes, 3.5" x 2.1" image on gilt-lined, 4" x 2.4" card, with backstamp: "C.D. Fredricks & C.O., 587 Broadway New York". Image is quite sharp and is from the waist up. Butler was an American politician and Union general in the Civil War. There is a slight tear on the reverse of the card, but it does not affect the stamp.
