1784 Accounts of Balloon Flights 1784-1785, The European Magazine & London Review, Lot of 3 Issues with articles on Early Balloon Flights, Extremely Fine. These are original printings of this popular British magazine. The contents, measuring 8" x 5" are in excellent condition, still bound at the spine, with no covers. The engravings could be removed and framed. 1. January 1784, contains an account of the first balloon flight to carry a human passenger, conducted by the Marquis D'Arlandes and Pilatre de Rozier on November 21, 1783. Also an engraving of William Pitt. 2. December 1784, this issue contains one of the earliest accounts of Blanchard's Balloon Flight from Chelsea to Rumsey on October 16, 1784. There are also 3 engravings including one of the famous Samuel Johnson, a fold-out of St. Peters Hospital, and a view of St. Petersburg, Russia. 3. January 1785, containing an account of Blanchard's balloon flight from Dover to France, and an engraving of William Herschel. (3 items). Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
