c. 1916, WW I Poster: "Mine More Coal" Printed by the United States Fuel Administration, Choice Extremely Fine.
This 30" x 20" color lithograph poster must not be confused with Walter Whitehead's "Mine More Coal", this version of the same poster has only an American bald eagle on a shield with "Stand by the Boys in the Trenches" with some 10 different languages providing the same message. A simple and effective poster, it told every American in every considerable dialect that they needed to Mine More Coal. There could be no misinterpreting this poster, or claiming that any of it was lost in translation. Small chunk missing from top edge. A great and unique poster!
