World War I Poster "Blood or Bread" Printed by Forbes c. 1918, World War I Poster, "Blood or Bread," Issued by the U.S. Food Administration, Choice Extremely Fine. This First World War Poster, asking Americans not to waste food, was issued by the U.S. Food Administration (No. 16) in 29" x 21" format, and printed by Forbes in Boston (which during the Second World War printed Allied Military Currency). The artist has signed in print in the lower right corner, but the name is unclear. This duplicate from the Hoover Library at Stanford University is in excellent condition aside from some roughness along the right margin. A great World War I Poster.
