February 8, 1886, "Union of Radicals" Protesting the "Monarchical Character of the Presidential System", Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Choice Extremely Fine.
Printed document, 11" x 8", signed in print by C. Hermann Boppe and other members of the Executive Committee of the Union of Radicals, which was founded in 1876. The Union calls for the abolition of the presidency, and urges Congress to consider their request. Lightly toned page, with chipping along the lower right hand edge, but crisp print overall. A very interesting, and unique document from the late 19th century, when progressive politics was challenging the status quo.
