1872 Topographic Map Of Yellowstone Park 1872, Topographic Map of Yellowstone National Park and Its Geysers, Published in Gotha, Germany by Justus Perthes, Very Choice Extremely Fine. In the late 1800's, the Germans produced the best maps, and here is one example. A. Petermann produced this marvelous map of America's first National Park, Yellowstone, in the year the park was created, 1872. This 10.5" x 17.5" hand-colored map was published in Petermann's Geographische Mittheilungen, and was originally a fold-out map in that atlas. The entire park is mapped on the left. On the right there are smaller maps of Fire Hole River, White Mountain, and Crater Hills. In the upper right corner are two depictions of erupting geysers. Aside from the 2 original folds, this map is in superb condition, and would look awesome framed and displayed. Lying mostly in Wyoming, but stretching into Montana and Idaho, Yellowstone was America's first National Park, created in 1872. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
