CIRCA 1900 CAST IRON ARCHITECTURAL MOLD

A very finely cast apparatus for creating architectural orbs or finials for gate posts, porch posts, verandas etc. Flips over and stands on the four flanges, for filling with cement. Upon curing, each of the four numbered and lettered sections separates from the casting by lifting the four locking mechanisms - and an approximately 10 inch ball-shaped finial is created. Two sections are marked ARCHITECTURAL MOLD CO. DETROIT MICHIGAN with embossed lettering on the front of their bases. Overall it measures 15 inches high and 13 inches square at base.
