A 19th century litho on wood clock-work figure that simulates the smoking of a cigar or cigarette. Similar to the IVES Smoking General Grant, he moves the Cigar or Cigarette to and from his mouth and raises his leg. Paper labels on the reverse provide directios to operation. Measurements of 14.5 x 8 x 6 inches.
Condition reportPaper loss from most edges and along the bottom near foot. Moving leg is a replacement. Winds and runs, but with limited motion. Replaced key, effects of age throughout.
