Sparkling black rhinestones cover this vintage open-work japanned butterfly from the delightful 5th Avenue, NYC store of Franklin Simon. Franklin Simon's signature was, of course, a butterfly. Their store was very exclusive and many of the high end designers of the 30s, 40s and 50s worked with them. The Butterfly has a wingspan of 2.25X2" and is very dimensional with its curved and domed wings. Red rhinestones accent its eyes, antennae and body. Comes in the original box from Franklin Simon featuring their signature butterfly. Vintage fine quality brooch in excellent condition. ... includes certificate that this lot came from the Estate of Louise Mondani Graham, owner of the Brass Bugle Antique Barn in Cornwall Bridge CT.
