Terrific Russian silver & shaded enamel master salt. Made by the Court supplier P.Ovchinnikov in Moscow in 1883. Traditional form. Sits on three ball feet. The entire exterior decorated with exceptional quality floral & geometric motifs soft-colored fields in green, pink, navy blue, red, dark pink, light blue, white, crime. Clearly marked Pavel Ovchinnikov and Imperia warrant , 88 silver standard, Moscow, dated 1883. Weights 1.8oz or 52gr. and measuring 2 1/2" or 6 1/2cm.across and 1" ( 2.5.cm) tall. It is appropriately gilded and in excellent condition. Eight different colors of enamel. Fine example of Russian silver cloisonne objects.
