Superb and RARE Russian Silver Enameled Kovsh.

Superb and RARE Russian silver kovsh, enameled in translucent navy blue and varicolored foliate chamleve enamel over guilloched floral ground on the interior and in exceptionally finely executed polychrome cloisonné enamel against a gilded stippled ground on the exterior. Russia, Circa 1900. Of traditional form with a flat handle. Three different types of enamel. In excellent condition. Measuring 4.7/8"(12.2cm.) in length and 2 1/2" (6.4cm.) across, the kovsh weighs 2.8 oz. (82 grams). Apparently unmarked. Top quality workmanship. An extremely beautiful piece!
