Subscription For His Print "The Sortie of Gibraltar" Signed

JOHN TRUMBULL, American Painter.
Blank Receipt Signed, "Jn. Trumbull" on a preprinted slip of fine, laid, watermarked paper, 1789, no place, 2.75" x 7.75", Crisp New. Trumbull made his living selling paintings and prints of his work. Apparently, he pre-signed his receipts in advance, then filled them out when money was paid to him. This receipt was for a one-half subscription for his print, "The Sortie of Gibraltar." Rare!
