Post-Revolutionary War to Civil War
1786 Warrant from the Massachusetts Treasurer's Office

1786 Warrant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Treasurer's Office to enforce the collection of taxes, Boston, Choice Very Fine.
12" x 8." A nice piece, with the original paper and wax seal is intact. Partly printed and completed in manuscript, signed by Thomas Ivers, the Treasurer and Receiver-General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This document authorizes the Sheriff of Worcester County to collect unpaid taxes owed by David Draper, Jr. Now, Draper was not just some ordinary citizen behind on his taxes; rather, he was the tax collector from Holden who owed more than £129 in taxes he had (or was supposed to have) collected)!

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
