"The Field Manual of Evolutions of the Line," by Capt. Henry Coppee, Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott & Co., 5.25" x 3.5", hardbound cloth covers, gilt-stamped spine, 144 pages. Coppee, a former instructor at West Point, wrote this choice manual for infantry officers as a sequel to the "Authorized U.S. Infantry Tactics." Its lightly toned pages have excellent illustrations. Book has beautiful owner's plate, "John F. Gilpin," with a coat of arms, on inside flap. Minor dampstaining, but pages and binding are firm.
