Higgins & Son, Photographers", Bath, Maine, Choice Extremely Fine. Made to memorialize the dead as part of the mourning process. Postmortem photos were often sent to relatives that could not make the long hard trip to the attend the funeral. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
