Colorful Blue 1896 William McKinley Patriotic Textile

c. 1896 Presidential Campaign William McKinley Patriotic Textile, Fine.
This bold textile is laid down on heavy card for display to an overall size of 11.5" x 18." Darker along the outer edges from the glue show through used to mount the piece, but this appears as either a darkening of the blue color or a slight browning of the white portions of the silk. Printed in black and blue, with fields of stars surrounding a bust of McKinley. The legend below reads: "Patriotism * Protection * & * Prosperity." From the Mastai collection, with his usual imprint and inventory number in red at bottom center. Ex: EAHA Auction, February 14, 2004, Lot 1227, where it sold for $604.
