George Dewey, "The Hero of Manila" Kerchief

1899, Rear Admiral George Dewey, "The Hero of The Manila Fight," Kerchief, Choice Extremely Fine.
A 17" x 17.5" patriotic silk kerchief featuring a portrait and caption of "Rear Admiral George Dewey, U.S.N. The Hero of The Manila Fight." The hemmed border is composed of red and white stripes with white stars on a blue field in each corners. Dewey's chest-up portrait is printed within a laurel border, with flag banners below, and surmounted by an eagle holding a banner which reads: "Our George He's All Right." The kerchief exhibits a few small stains. Listed as #804 in "Threads of History," by Collins.
