Typed Letter Signed, "Charles E. Hughes," blue ink, May 5, 1911, Washington, DC, 9.75" x 7", Choice Extremely Fine. The lot includes a letter written from a Mr. Sydney D. Alshuler of New York City to Hughes' requesting his autograph. The note was signed and written on official stationary of the Supreme Court. In addition to the note is a wonderful 3.75" x 6.5" cover postmarked April 11, 1952, Washington, D.C. celebrating "100th Anniversary - Charles Evans Hughes." There is a 4 cent postage stamp with Hughes' image with a cancel over it.
