A Warrior Standing On Horseback Wood Printing Block

c. 1770, Hand-Engraved Wooden Printing Block, depicting a Warrior Standing on back of His Charging Horse, Choice Extremely Fine.
This is a stunning, original hand-engraved wooden printing block, measuring 2.5" x 3," depicting a figure wearing leggings, a sash and feathered headgear, holding a shield in one hand and raising the other with his sword in hand, while standing on the back of a running horse, which is covered only with a blanket. It is unclear whether the figure is supposed to be or when exactly this engraved woodblock was made or used. With a little more research, one should hopefully be able to identify this early wood cut. This printing block is clean, unbroken, uncracked, and in nice condition so it could still be used.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
