Derby Connecticut Soldier in the Continental Army 1780

August 25, 1780, Manuscript Enlistment Document Signed, Derby (CT), Choice Very Fine.
A Revolutionary War era document dated 1780 at Derby Connecticut that certifies that "Ebenezer Warner, Walter Wooster, James Pritchard and James Riggs, James Leach, Philo Lewis, Abner Riggs, Moses Riggs Elizah Smith were all soldiers and officers as above were in active service on the first day of January last and Corporal Ebenezer and David Allen and Joseph Smith were soldiers in the Connecticut Continental Army and served the three years according to their enlistments. Elizah Smith belonged to the Fifth Continental Regiment and all the others belonged to the Sixth Continental Regiment Certiifies by us the above soldiers all belong to Derby." Signed by James Beard, Abraham Hawkins and John Humphrys as selectmen and signed by the named soldiers on the reverse.
