c. 1824, Four Different "Marquis De Lafayette" Commemorative Items, Choice Extremely Fine. 1. 1.5" x 5.25," white silk ribbon. With black ink, the ribbon has the image of Lafayette, heraldic eagle, and military armaments. Beneath his image reads, "Undaunted in person, undazzled by fear, The Friend of our Country, still nobly the same." There is slight fraying at the top and bottom of the commemorative ribbon. 2. 6.5" x 3.75," stamped cover. First Day Cover Commemorating the 175th Anniversary of the Landing Of Marquis De Lafayette Near Georgetown, S.C., June 13, 1777. Image of Lafayette flanked by both the American and French flags. Stamped 9-AM, Jun 13, 1952, Georgetown, S.C. Attached is a canceled blue 3 cent "Arrival of Lafayette in America 1777" stamp. 3. 2.25" x 4" black and white portrait of Lafayette. Some slight foxing. 4. 3.5" x 5.25", colorful unused postcard featuring Lafayette. Description on the back reads, "Portrait of the Marquis De Lafayette, Artist Unknown, In the Mount Vernon Mansion."
