Bounty Receipt for a Union Soldier

September 8, 1864, Bounty Receipt for a Union Soldier, Genesee County, NY, Choice Very Fine.
5.5" x 7.75", doublesided, fine-laid lined paper, with canceled, pale blue 2¢ Internal Revenue stamp on recto. "Orlando S. Walker" was to receive $400 for service in the Union army: "Please let Halton Banister have my County Bounty in bonds. This will give recept therefore...." Verso has notation from "William H. Bannister" that "John W. Brown, Chairman of Genesee C. Bounty Committee" provided the funds for the "within order." Crisp brown ink writing on lightly toned page. Heavy toning along horizontal crease on verso, minor soiling, but very clear otherwise.
