CDV of Union General Jesse Lee Reno by J. E. McClees Carte-de-Visite of Union General Jesse Lee Reno, Printed by J. E. McClees, Philadelphia, PA, Very Fine. CDV features a photo vignette of General Reno in uniform, with a backstamp by McClees, with clipped top corner tips, and penned caption "Brig Gen Reno." Reno was mortally wounded at Fox's Gap during the Battle of South Mountain, September 14, 1862. The first Reno CDV we've offered! Jesse Lee Reno (1823-1862), a career U.S. Army officer, served in the Mexican-American War, the western frontier, and as a Union general during the Civil War. Known as a "soldier's soldier" who fought alongside his men, he was killed while commanding corps in 1862. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
