Rare Lacquer Box with Hand Painting of Black Musicians

1800s, Black Lacquer Box with Hand Painted Multicolor Scene of 5 Black Musicians, Very Rare, Choice Extremely Fine.
This fabulous, 3.25" round, black lacquer box is decorated with a hand-painted scene of 5 black musicians standing in an urban or village street. This very rare scene, painted in red, green, blue, black, white and various shades of brown, may represent a scene in America or perhaps the West Indies. In this delightful scene, one man plays a drum, one a French Horn, another a trombone, and a boy plays the flute. A spectacular piece of miniature painting.

Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
