1838 Willed Slaves by Kentuckian Benjamin Morton, Very Fine.
13" x 7.75," 1.5 pages, scattered foxing, but well-preserved and quite legible. Dated November 27, 1838, this document records the final requests of Benjamin Morton. The pertinent parts:

"...It is my wish and desire that all my Negro men and women that has misses or husbands should not be sepperated from each other but that they should be valued by three disinterested persons and that either partie may have liberty to by [sic] them..."

"...It is my wish after the death of my beloved wife Viney Morton that my old Negro Woman Molly should remain with some one of my children the one that she may make choice of and that she may be well treated and in case she should be disabled to in any way then to be taken care of out of my estate..."
