1924 Democratic National Convention Program With Flags 1924, Democratic National Convention, Program for Dinner hosted by the City of New York, with flags printed in color on the front cover, Choice Near Mint. This colorful, 8 page, string-bound, 14" x 10.25" program for the 1924 Democratic National Convention in New York City is decorated on the front with an American flag, a New York state flag, and the U.S. coat-of-arms inside a wreath, all in color. In the black and white background are additional flags, the capitol building, the Statue of Liberty, an ocean liner, the New York skyline, and the arms of the City of New York, with a banner below reading: "New York - The Democratic City." The pages are held together by a blue, white and gold sting, in the manner of a menu. The first page consists of a large photogravure portrait of Mayor John F. Hylan. One of the officials on the Mayor's reception committee for this banquet was William H. Woodin, who a few years later would become Secretary of the United States Treasury and whose printed signature would appear on U.S. Currency. One of the speakers at this dinner was Cordell Hull, who would later become U.S. Secretary of State, one of the founders of the United Nations, and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. This program is in near perfect condition, aside from some very light soiling in the margins of the cover. Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
