Maffett to his sister Emilie and relating to the death of Captain "Fred" Maffett, numerous pp., 8vo & 4to, 1914-15; Army Book 153, 2 vol., manuscripts in pencil or carbon copies, c. 60pp. excluding blanks, small quantity of pieces loosely inserted including printed notice: "From the King", instructions from Headquarters etc., original cloth, rubbed leather ties, 110 x 175mm., 1912-14; and a quantity of others, including a German soldier's diary, letters etc., v.s., v.d.(qty)***Captain Maffett was shot at a forward observation post. Letters from Maffett joining the war and much correspondence from Emilie Harmsworth relating to enquiries about his death, how he died and where he is buried, including some from Major Reinhardt who buried the body..
