Lloyd George (David, first earl Lloyd George of Dwyfor, prime minister, 1863-1945) 2 Autograph Letters signed and 4 Typed Letters signed to Cecil Harmsworth, 6pp. & envelopes, sm. 4to, Board of Trade, Treasury Chambers, Bron-y-de, Churt, Surrey etc., 8th March 1906 - 24th November 1939, being invited to join the government, "Under the authority which I have received from the King, I have submitted your name to His Majesty for the office of Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs", and Lloyd George's speeches about the forthcoming Second World War, "I have been literally overwhelmed with letters over my speeches and articles on the peace proposals and I have been quite unable to cope with them. But I can assure you that there was no letter that gave me more genuine pleasure than the one I received from you.
