Brunus Aretinus (Leonardus) Aquila Volante, additions by Allegrettus Salensis, 120 ff. only (of 122, lacking text ff. d4&5), 43 lines and headline, Roman letter, large woodcut title of a crowned eagle surmounted by text in a banderole all within an ornamental border, woodcut initials, some decorated, woodcut printer's device to verso of final f., a few ff. with early ink marginalia, repaired tear to lower inner corner of title, touching border recto and some text verso, but with no loss, repair verso leaving small dark brown patch, worm traces to first few ff., mostly marginal, but affecting a few letters, worm traces reducing to very small holes later, again affecting a few letters, but with no loss of sense, lower margin of title and a few other ff. repaired, occasional staining, heavier to f4, old vellum, [Not in BMC cat; Goff B-1233], folio, Milan, Antonius Zarotus, 1495.***On mythology and the Roman gods. Fifteenth century editions of this work are exceedingly rare. We have been unable to trace any copy of this edition being sold at auction in the last 25 years.
