***The inscription reads, "To Geoffrey Boothroyd / Herewith appointed / 'Armourer' to J.Bond. / from / Ian Fleming", relating to Boothroyd's role of adviser to Fleming concerning Bond's guns. The dust-jacket by Richard Chopping features a specially-adapted Smith & Wesson and on the inside flap notes "modified by, and the property of, Geoffrey Boothroyd"..
