Chinese Manchu inscribed spinach green jade 'imperial'-style edict scroll holder, fashioned from two cylindrical tubes joined at the center by threaded gilt metal rims, the exterior divided into four registers separated by narrow scroll bands, the upper register with a 50-character poem above alternating Manchu and Chinese inscriptions with an apocryphal Qianlong seal on the second and third bands, the bottom with 40-characters preceeded by a larger four-character legend, a palace workshop seal carved to the top, with traces of inlaid gilt contrasting with the dark green matrix flecked with black, 10.25''h; Provenance: Estate of Diana Engstrom, Northern California and Sweden
