Nineteenth-century Orientalist watercolor on paper, probably Italian, showing a female figure in exotic dress relaxing with a hookah pipe and surrounded by elaborate architecture and intricately-detailed objects including a rug and inlaid-wood furniture. Framed; signature at lower left partially covered by matte.
Dimensions: visible image area, 17-1/2"H x 11-5/8"W; with frame, 25-1/8H x 18-3/8W
Condition: No visible damage to painting; on matte, brown toning, waterstains to lower edge; on frame, some scratching, nicks, and loss.
