BURLIUK, David Davidovich (1882-1967) and Vasilii Vasilevich KAMENSKII (1884-1961). Velemir Vladimirovich Khlebnikov. Tvoreniya 1906-1908 g. [Velemir Vladimirovich Khlebnikov. Works from 1906 to 1908].
Moscow: Futuristy "Gileya," [1914]. 6 pp., 8vo (208 x 135 mm). Original decorated wrappers designed by Burliuk. Condition: light spotting to wrappers, neat repair to last leaf, unobtrusive rubber stamp to first leaf. Provenance: stamp of VladimirTatlin on title page. previously unrecorded prospectus for the futurist book. This pamphlet contains Burliuk's and Kamenskii's essays on the Futurist Khlebnikov (1885-1922) with two drawings by Burliuk including his famous portrait of the maverick poet. Khlebnikov and Aleksei Kruchenykh were arguably the most radical poets of the Futurists in inventing zaum, a "transrational" language. An exceptional association copy, having come from the library of avant-garde artist Tatlin (1885-1953), one of the founders of Constructivism.
