Moscow: "Molodaya Gvardiya," [1927]. 14 pp., large 8vo (290 x 220 mm). Original color lithographed wrappers. Condition: wrappers with intermittent staining and thumbsoiling; fold with small tape repair and small splits. early constructivist children's book illustrated by two of rodchenko's students. When a young Tatar boy visits Moscow for the first time, he learns that everything in this new modern city is run by the people's organization called Mossovet. The Chichagova sisters Galina and Olga studied at VKhUTEMAS and exhibited in the international press exhibition in Cologne in 1928. They designed picture books for the "New Children's Library" that aspired to eliminate all the traces of the old tsarist fairy tales from juvenile literature and to replace them with the wonders of the modern industrial age. Not in MoMA, Getty, BM or NYPL.
