PLATUNOVA, Aleksandra Georgevna (1896-1955). Vinetki [Vignettes].
Kazan: "Vsadnik," 1921. 28 pp., 8vo (151 x 127 mm). Letterpress title. 13 mounted woodcuts (53 x 34 mm and larger) by Platunova. Original decorated wrappers. Condition: text block browned, 2 plates browned. limited edition, the title numbered "24" in red. Platunova was a respected avant-garde artist and the wife of Konstantin Chebotarev. She belonged to the Vsadnik [The Rider] group and contributed to their graphic almanac. Among the other artists she exhibited with were Wassily Kandinsky, Dmitrii Mitrokhin and Aleksandr Rodchenko. These early "vignettes" are reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley's decorations.
