Moscow and Leningrad: ZIF, 1930. 272 pp., 8vo (210 x 145 mm). Partially uncut. Translated from the English by Mark Volosov. With a preface by Upton Sinclair. Original decorated two-color photomontage wrappers designed by A. Rodchenko. Condition: wrappers slightly thumbsoiled, minor chipping to fore-edge; backstrip cracked and partially detached. This second novel by the Welsh-born writer tells the story of unfair labor practices in the United States that send radical factory workers out on strike was quite favorably received in the Soviet Union. Jones' best-known novel The Vineyard (1942) was set in the California wine country. One of 5000 copies. MoMA 892.
